Weight loss supplement?
So, I've been doing the weight loss thing for awhile. I'd lose some weight, hit a plateau. I'd eat a little more so I could restart the engine sort of speak and then lose some more. I continue to hit this plateau though, and I can't get to my goal weight. I was/am overweight. I'm not as far gone as I was but I still need to lose more for health reasons. I'm not looking for a weight loss pill. I know there is no magic pill. What I'm looking for is more of a suggestion on a supplement. Even if it's just a one-a-day with weight control or something. I didn't know if maybe there was one certain nutrient that I should be getting more off that would help me to stop hitting this plateau and to just steadily lose weight. I'm not concerned with how long it takes. I exercise, riding my bike mostly (I like it the most) and eat right. I just feel maybe there is some supplement I could be missing that could help.
To the guy with the essay of an answer. I know all of that. I've heard all that before. I'm in college. I've taken the health classes where they preach the same thing. No one has seemed to understand my question. I am not looking for a weight loss pill. As I said, I know there is no magic pills. More like a multi-vitamin, or just a certain vitamin or mineral is what I'm looking for. Either a multi-vitamin like a one-a-day, or should I be getting extra calcium, chromium, iron, vitamin C, etc. Stuff like that. Can anyone accurately answer my question now?

Not really sadly. Plateaus are going to happen no matter what. And everyone hits them. (my bench has been at a plateau for a year!!!! aahahh!!!!) But, on the weight loss supplement thing ive never really seen one that actually works. Some of them "may" help, but it may actually take from nutrients your body needs to lower fat. It would probably be better to just stick to your current plan and lose it the healthy way. You cant expect lightning results. Give it some time, and stick with your plan. You will be looking good before ya know it.
Best of luck!

a plateau exists in muscle building – not in fat loss…
a muscle can only grow by the protein you feed it and the stress you present it to… if you reach a weight you cant push past or you are not eating enough protein your muscle will stop growing – this is a plateau.
fat loss however is on going… the only reason it would stop is because you have hit a balance – there must be an imbalance to gain or lose weight…
the body seems complicated – and it is…
but to put it simply -
it uses food for fuel…
what we eat and it doesn need for fuel – it stores as fat
if we use more fuel than we eat
it goes to its stored fuel – fat… and uses that…
so the idea is – to eat what the average body needs daily (about 1600-2000 calories a day)- then work it so that it needs to use up these stored fat sources…
do you really hit a point where you stop losing weight?
or are you too focussed on one point you dont notice the other places getting slimmer…
its common for people to focus on their stomach – and this is one of the last places for your body to lose fat – and one of the first places to store it… so if your focussing too much on your stomach you wont notice the fat loss in other places. its just the way it works… it stores fat directly over your centre of gravity first because it is easier to carry here.
which is why a toned flat stomach is so hard to get – you have to use up all the fat to tackle the last hurdle…
if this is not the case – and your weight loss really is grinding to a halt then you must upset your balance once more – you need to be burning more than your eating constantly – day in day out and you will reach your goal in time…
patience and persistence.
