Weight Loss Plan Help/Advice?
I've set the goal that I'd like to lose 30 pounds! Not by a certain time or anything, just over time. I've put a lot of thought into the changes I'll have to make, and this is what I've come up with...
Dieting:
Eating smaller portions throughout the day
Eating well balanced
Become more aware of calorie intake
Cut out sweets!
Exercise:
Riding a bicycle once a day in the afternoons
Should I exercise before or after dinner? I may have to exercise before dinner because I'll be at work until 3:30 - 4 during the week
Should I incorporate some type of weight training with my bicycle rides? If so, what would be good for a newbie?
Should I take a weight loss supplement while I'm dieting and exercising? If so which one?
Also, the meal ideas I have been looking into call for a meal replacement bars or shakes....What are some good brands for this?

Never eat meal replacement bars. They’re stuffed with calories.
Go on the bike quite slow, you need the exercise to be aerobic to lose weight. Anaerobic exercise just burns glycogen.
You should involve some weight training, for general health and maintenance of the muscles.
Exercise about 2hours after a meal, you’ll get the most from the kcals.
Sip water while exercising to slowly replace lost fluids. The number one cause of overeating is dehydration, our body only has one mechanism to tell us whether we are hungry or thirsty and mostly confuses thirst with hunger.
Riding a bicycle isn’t a balanced workout programme, you need to consult a trainer to find out what is right for you. A bike only works your legs, you need whole body training.
Don’t try and starve yourself, you’ll end up putting on more weight than you lost.
And you don’t need to lose 30pounds, 10 – 15 pounds tops (take in mind that to lose this much in fat would require starvation and 7 hours training a day for 15days to make happen!) A goal of 1 pound a week is reasonable. If you lose 5 or 6 pounds in the first 2 weeks then you’re doing something wrong.

Your exercise plan isn’t very good. Try doing cardio, like running. Then do push-ups, sit-ups, crunches, lunges.
For dieting, the shakes and pills and bars are just crap. I like just smaller portions and remember to eat HEALTHIER. Stop drinking sodas and smoothies completely.

When you excercise, make sure you do your cardio 3-4 times a week preferably before breakfast, as you will lose more calories this way. Cardio is the most important excercise factor in losing weight. You need to keep your heart rate up, 30-40 minutes, 3-4 times a week. Running, jogging, power walking, cycling, aerobics etc. good luck.

i think you should exercise after a meal, (maybe like an hour later) once your food goes down.

I know someone that wanted to lose some weight and she did it all in the comfort of her own house. If you have cable then you can go to exercise on demand, which gives you a great variety. You may think that joining a gym is great but this exercise on demand is just as good if not better. I feel as though it can benefit anybody of any shape or size. Biking is a good idea and then best time to do it is when you feel ready for it. If you pick a certain time and don’t want to do it during that time then you won’t commit. That is sometimes the worst. I saw that you are eating in small portions, make sure you don’t snack all day and think at the same time that you are eating less. Even though you feel like you are, it can sometimes be worse for you which doesn’t help at all. Lastly, DON’T take any weight loss supplement. Eat healthy foods, do exercises that will benefit your body and make sure that you are able to commit to the entire process 100%.
