Is it safe and/or effective to take fiber supplements to help boost weight loss?

I have a weigh in on Tuesday for Weight Watchers and my weight went up by about 2 pounds last week after an unhealthy binge. I want to try to get my weight down as much as possible. I've been eating an extra healthy diet, but I'm considering taking fiber supplements to help get my weight down a little more.

I will not take more than the recommended dosage for the day and this will be in addition to my healthy diet and exercise. I want to possibly use the extra fiber as a detox/cleanse (to help "flush out" excess "crap".)

Is this safe or even effective?

I'm thinking of joining an LA Weight Loss center?

Has anyone out there ever been a member or is currently a member of LA Weight Loss? What do you think of it? I'm a 24 year-old female and I want to be at a healthier weight other than my current 220 pounds. Do you think LA Weight loss center is for me?
Also, how much does it cost?
I tried Weight Watchers also but I found that it wasn't for me. Thanks for the suggestion though. :)

Are there any supplements or weight loss pills or a specific meal plan that you can recommend?

I am currently competing in my office's game of the Biggest Loser. Since we started I have lost a little bit of weight but I have not been as committed as I should of been. I just noticed that we have about 6.5 weeks left of the contest and I am looking for tips and suggestions on how I might lose the most weight possible in the time I have left. I still have a pretty good chance of winning from looking at the stats of everyone else and so I figure I will give it a go. I know that losing weight fast is not recommended but this is kind of a one time kind of thing. One of my co-workers is VERY cocky and is sure he will win and I would like to at least give him a run for his money. Besides winning the pot of money that we all put in to would also be pretty awesome. lol

Just in case it matters I am a 25 year old female. I currently weight about 170lbs and I am about 5'1". When I have actually been committed I do weight watchers as far as dieting goes and I work out 4-6 times a week. I usually try to do about 35 minutes of cardio along with some weight training.

If you have any tips or tricks on this subject, please share them with me!!!!
THANKS!!!!!

In your opinion, what is the best online weight loss community site?

Hi,

I'm getting overwhelmed with the abundance of so many weight loss websites out there. I'm looking for one that has an active forum, where people talk about their daily eating habits and keep track of their goals.

I'm not interested in weight watchers so please exclude that from your recommendations.

Thanks!

What is the best cardio/strength training combo to maximize weight loss?

I am looking to loose weight the healthy way with exercise and healthy living. My goal is to loose 1-2 lbs per week and I have decided to utilize the Weight Watchers Flex Point system to help me on the food end. Now I need to know how to work out the right way. How long should I walk/lift weights? Should I alternate days? Is is okay to work out for a half hour or should I go longer? Is it more important to walk a mile in 17 minutes if I can or should I still walk the whole 30 minutes? What kind of strength training should I do and for how long? So much to know. Please Help. Thanks

I am on a weight loss diet and have lost 60 pounds?

and will lose more. Since I have lost this weight when I sit down my tail bone hurts. I have tried shifting positions, sitting on pillows, sitting up straight, and moving around. These things help short term but not always for any of them. Anybody got any ideas of what I can do to help this problem other than gain weight. ( Don't try to be funny, I am not into any funny sexual stuff)
yes I have lost it sensibaly, over a period of almost 6 month. Partly on Weight Watchers
yes I spend a lot of time on the treadmill walking, but not on my butt, what has that got to do with my tail bone?

Healthy meal plan for weight loss…?

Here is a typical day of my eating. I feel it is very healthy but if you have suggestions to tweak to optimize results, it is greatly appreciated. Right of the bat I will say I believe in carbs, so low-carb diets are not for me. I am going to weight watchers and for my weight, these 31-32 points are appropriate. I will not eat less calories than this, just wondering if I should increase protein, veggies, fruits or anything.

Breakfast:
1 cup Strawberries (or other fruit)
1/2 cup plain fat free yogurt
1/2cup All Bran
2 Tbs Ground Flax
1 Tall Skinny Caramel Latte (my treat of the day =) )

Snack:
1 Fruit
High Fiber, 100 calorie Granola Bar

Lunch:
2 slices whole grain bread
3 oz lean meat
1 oz reduced fat cheese
lots of veggies
1 fruit

Snack:
2tbs hummus
carrot sticks
whole wheat pita

Dinner:
3-4 oz lean meat
Lots of veggies
1 cup whole wheat pasta or brown rice
1 cup of milk

weight loss for a healthy teen?

I'm 16 years old and I weigh 107 lbs. and I have a muscular figure. I know everyone says muscles look nice but I'm not comfortable with my figure. I have spoken with a doctor and he said I could still be healthy and muscular at 100 pounds.
How can i go about doing this, I eat healthy, but i dont wan't to cut out all carbs, because im still a teen. Can someone give me a meal plan and an exercise plan? My legs are the most muscular part of my body and i want to make them thinner and longer.
Thanks to anyone who can give me legit answers!
PS i dont want any acai berry diet answers or weight watchers please
