Running vs Walking for weight loss and diet plan?

My bf and I are constantly battling over what is better for weight loss.

He says running I say walking.

I've read walking is more beneficial to burning fat while running will burn more carbohydrates over fat. I've also heard, unless one is an experienced runner it can be bad for the knees and lower back.

So does anyone have the truth.

I am trying to lose a bit of weight, just so I can feel comfortable again but have a horrible diet. I hate breakfast which I know is a killer for the metabolism so another question I have is would this be a suitable diet along with exercise to lose weight.

Breakfast - Two peices of fruit 6 almonds

Morning Tea - Soy Latte

Lunch - Pita wrap with fresh salad mix

Afternoon Snack - (which I rarely feel like) Yogurt or fruit

Dinner - Meat and veg

Plus I drink lots of water.

My aim is to walk 30mins a day with my son and at night do fifteen minutes of light jogging on the treadmill and some toning exercises.

Is there anything I should add or take away.

Is it good/bad to have a once per week "cheat meal" while on weight loss diet?

I am on a low carb, calorie restrictive diet to drop a quick 10lbs before a wedding. I follow my diet to the T. I exercise one hour per day, and after 4 days I am already seeing results (I am thin to begin with). But, I've been reading up on different diets. Some say it is important to have one cheat meal per week to trick the metabolism and rev it up again, others say dont cheat at all ever bc it will slow weight loss down.

I would only be cheating for strategy, I really am not craving bad things. On the other hand, one cheat meal will not throw me off track I am pretty disciplined. I just want to know which is the best way to go

hear two different school's of thought. One says its important to have a 1/7 cheat meal to keep motivation up (something to work toward), and to "trick" metabolism before it gets used to restricted calories.

Is this a good weight loss/diet plan?

Alright, so. Range from 1000-1500 calories daily. (probably averaging out at about 1200 a day.)
35 minutes of cardio 5 times a week (2-4 miles, depending on the program)
15-20 minutes of core/toning exercises 5 times a week.

Should I see fast results? I'm varying my exercise/food intake so I don't slow my metabolism down.

What is a successfully weight loss/diet plan I can follow?

I'm not "majorly overweight," but I really need to loose about 20 pounds by sometime next year. If anybody has a successful plan or story, I'd be happy to hear about it and maybe it could help me:) I know that you have to lift weights to burn fat and eat 6 meals a day to boost your metabolism, but I'm just not sure "what" weight lifting exercises I should be doing and "what" foods I should be eating.

If you start exercise at the same time as a diet, will this slow your weight loss?

Anyone have any input as to whether it is best to begin with diet first and then start increasing your activity or beginning both at the same time? I'm talking solely from the amount of weight your body will lose. I am just wondering if exercise and diet together impacts your metabolism differently than adjusting your diet and then adding exercise in slowly.

Best diet pill for weight loss and energy?

I just hit 170 pounds and I'd like to be 135 pounds again. It took me 15 years to gain 35 pounds but I'd like to lose it in 3-6 months. Plus just turning 40 did not help my metabolism.

weight loss?

is it true if I have a high matabolism that I will loss weight faster? If so how can i speed up my metabolism to do this (I have tried all the diets and only need to loss 20 pounds and then I'll be my ideal weight) I can't run or do any other arobics because of a heart condition... I walk every day... about a mile and a half... if anyone can help me I would appreciate it.

... i walk everywhere, i don't drink, and i don't eat 'sweets'. my mom says its just because i have her metabolism, my dad just says im a fat *** and i need to loose weight. ...

Can you take two Alli and Slim Quick diet supplements at the same time?

I am in desperate need of losing weight. I have always kept my weight the same from age 16 to 36, now all of a sudden, at age 37, I have gained 25 lbs. I guess the metabolism is finally slowing down. I really need to lose weight quick and was wondering if taking 2 weight loss supplements (Alli and All Natural Slim Quick) at the same time is dangerous.
