What are the benefits of water in a weight-loss diet?
As I mentioned before, my dad has high cholesterol and is trying to lose some weight. I heard that drinking water can help weight-loss in a number of ways, but I was wondering how it helps?
Like, does it cure bloating and flush out the system or something.
Also, my dad hates the taste of water, but he loves orange squash. Is squash just as good as water? Its sugar free and low in calories.
Tips about weight loss and diet?
My goal is to lose about 15-20 pounds by the end of this summer. I know it is healthy to loose no more than 2 lbs a week. I started working out for the past 4 days, and burn approx 1,000 calories at the gym per day, along with other exercises. I also cut down completely on fast food (which I go to only at the most, once a week) and have incorporated fruits and veggies into my diet. I started drinking a lot more water. I do the elipitical for an half hour, then the stair climber for 20 minutes, I do ab crunches several times throughout my workout, the bicycle for 20 minutes, and then the elipitical for 30 minutes. Is there something I should change in my workout? Also what are some aerobic exercises that are easy to do? Finally what are foods that will help me loose weight. Should I stay away from pasta, I have heard contradicting theories on pasta and carbs, so I'm not sure if pasta contributes to weight gain or not.
Is this good for weight loss?
I run every day and burn 500 calories in the process. if i stick to a normal weight loss diet, is this a good way to slim down?
Super high fiber diet for weight loss?
I recently saw a program on public television for the fiber 35 diet. The diet appealed to me because 1) I eat a lot of vegetables/high fiber foods anyway and 2) the diet's creator claims that eating 35 or more grams of fiber per day causes your body to burn a couple hundred calories just by processing the fiber. I've been on the diet only 2 weeks and have gotten past the nightmare cramping, bloating and *ahem* constant gas expulsion, but I'm wondering if this will really work in the long run. I've read some consumer reviews on the fiber 35 diet and wonder if the rave reviews of losing tons of weight are really true. Anyone have any experience with this? I'm on this diet primarily to lose weight and secondarily to preserve my health with healthy eating. In a typical day I eat a couple bags of frozen vegetables (broccoli, corn, etc.), a can of lentil or black bean soup, red beans & rice, oranges, and oatmeal or bran cereal. No meat, which is a new thing for me!
How to stick to your weight loss diet?
I am 19, 5ft 6in and about 185lbs. I find it hard to stick to my 1,500 calorie diet after i fell off from it a week ago. I am eating more sweets and calories like 1,800-2,000 calories a day. Which was mainly all this week. I don't know if its because i got my period, I've stressed cause of the end of the semester and other problems. My emotions are on a rollarcoaster. I just don't know what to do. I feel like a failure that will NEVER achieve my goals. I keep asking myself why do i keep bothering everyday. I'm not meant to be skinny.
Plus i do go to the gym and diet

FAST WEIGHT LOSS DIET!!?
I'm 14, 5'5" and 114 pound, I have huge hips and thighs. I wear a 3 or 2 in jeans, and a small in tops. I eat about 1200- 1500 calories a day and swim for at lest an hour, plus one hour cardio. I don't drink soda, or eat junk food, and even though I've been doing this for awhile and yet my thighs still flab and rub against each other, does any one have any ideas of how to tone up and bring my size down?
