Is this an acceptable diet for weight loss?
I want to lose about 20 pounds before spring break.
I have no problem exercising (i just have to stick with it), my issue is food.
So my plan a temporary diet plan is:
2 slim fast shakes (breakfast and lunch), and a southbeach diet tv dinner thing (dinner)
of course after I lose weight, i will just maintain it but come off of this temporary diet.

To be honest, those kinds of diets sets you up to failure.
Have you tried eating SMALL but frequent meals? Doing this will boost up your metabolism and prevent you from binge eating. I eat every 4-5 hours about 5-6 times a day. The general rule of thumb is eating carbs the size of your fist and proteins the size of your palm with as much veggies you want.
You never ever get hungry because of the frequent mini meals. The best part is you actually INCREASE your energy. I always crashed around 4-5 at work and since I’ve been doing this, I am as energized as ever. Don’t forget to boost your caloric intake once a week (eat what you want whenever :p ).
I hate working out, so I use Fat Burning Furnace. FBF is this digital ebook that delves deeper into the eating plan I mentioned above (i loove digital ebooks, you get it instantly without shipping fees). PLUS- it mentions how you can work out for only 15 min a day, only 3 times a week. It’s great if you hate working out like me lol.
I really think the diet you mention will be very hard to keep up and be consistent. Try fat burning furnace because you can get the results you really want and not starve your body and mind from the lack of real food.
Good luck and best wishes to 2011:)

Girl, this diet is acceptable if u wanna get sick and die.-.-
Ur body needs a lot of proteins,vitamins…..These are not enough….and to loose 20 POUNDS in few months is not so easy goal.
I think u should eat a lot of fresh fruits, vegetables and meat.
And ofc exercises.
But still, dont overdrive and destroy ur body.Drink a lot of WATER.
I hope u will success.

Honestly I say go for it. You want to loose the weight fast, and as long as you’re eating something it’s much better than using diet pills or developing eating disorders. As long as once you come off your diet you eat healthy there should be no problem.
Just be sure this is only temporary!

is not sure about that but i can help a little. about a year and a half ago i was started taking "acai berry edge" and lost 40 pounds in 8 months but it was discontinued. so what ive been using since then is another acai product from spring valley. you can find them at walmart in the vitamin section. it doesnt work as well as the other, but it does help. since i switched to this one ive lost 30 more.
i didnt even have to work out or diet. it just went away lol hopefully that helps. good luck!

No! Check the calorie content of those shakes and you will be surprised. You can substitute a healthy food choice for the same calories and feel much better and still lose weight. Breakfast: Plain oatmeal with berries, Lunch…2 slices thin sliced bread with sliced chicken (or other lean meat), lettuce and tomato and then have the diet tv dinner thing for dinner. Snack on fruit and raw veggies so you don’t get too hungry.

The answer is NO that is not an acceptable diet for anyone.
To lose weight and more importantly keep it off, you have to make slight adjustments to your lifestyle. For example, if you smoke, stop, or at least cut it down as far as you can. If you drink alcohol, cut it down to a single glass of wine a day and don’t think that you can save up your drinks and have them all at the weekend. It doesn’t work that way I’m afraid.
As for diet itself, eat slightly smaller portions.
Cut out animal fats and stop frying food. Don’t eat biscuits or crisps (I believe they are called chips in the USA). Stop taking sugar in any drinks like tea or coffee. Stop taking drinks like coke, or pepsi, or any other carbonated drink.
Breakfast should ideally be 30g of cereal with skimmed milk and no sugar, or a bowl of porridge, again without sugar. A slice of wholemeal toast and marmalade. Treat yourself one day a week with grilled bacon, or scrambled or poached egg.
Mid morning take a piece of fruit and drink water.
Lunch should ideally be a bowl of homemade soup, preferably vegetable.
Afternoon have another piece of fruit and drink of water.
Tea could be poached fish or grilled meat with vegetables, or as much salad as you want.
Don’t under any circumstances eat anything after you’ve had your tea.

At a health spa I went to they gave us a bowl of beef or chicken broth before each meal and that literally cuts your appetite in half. The meals were largely vegetables and fruit for dessert. That is a healthy eating plan and one you can stay with for the rest of your life, we also had eggs fish and chicken, all broiled, very little fat.

our bodys are only meant to hold a fist full of food at a time….
keep that in mind everytime you go to eat…

Stay away from sugars, starches & saturated fats. Drink lots of liquids, fresh fruits & vegetables, nuts & walk at least half an hour a day to start.

Best way to lose weight on your belly is to work on your abdominals, but doing normal sit ups will hurt your spine in the long run.
Safest way is to hang with your arms from something like a branch or door frame and lift your knees up to your chin as many times as you can, then one more, then rest 10 minutes then do it again then rest one day and on that day eat proteins like fish/chicken/cheese.
Do this every other day of your life. It only takes 10 minutes or so and you’ll never have fat on your belly ever again.

How many times do we hear from some overweight people that "they have tried everything" to lose weight but nothing works?
Yet these people have *never* tried missing a meal every so often or at least reducing their portions or giving up sugar and fattening foods,.,.
Losing weight is simplicity itself: eat less and burn mo

Walking is the safest exercise.
With regard to diet , you better reduce fats and carbohydrates.
Instead of them take plenty of salads, skimmed milk and fruits like oranges, guava, strawberry etc.Take plenty of water.
Please take care that your body gets all the necessary vita mines and minerals in spite of your strict dieting . Hope this helps. All the best !

I keep recommending this to everyone because it’s effective ! I lost weight fast on this diet and kept it off. It’s based on how the liver and how it responds to food – this is the basis of diets that get fast results while keeping you healthy . Don’t be fooled by other plans, pills, etc.
