Weight Loss Question and Answer Weight Loss Answers

8Nov/103

I need a simple weight-loss diet with basic foods. Help!?

I have gained 20 lbs. due to my thyroid. I am now on meds but the weight isn't dropping. I've increased my activity level, but the diet is still bad. I only like simple foods like meat, breads (love the carbs!), few veggies (only cooked) like broccoli, beans, cauliflower, potatoes and few fruits (strawberries, bananas, apples, grapes). I live in a rural community now with one grocery store... I can't even find chicken there safe enough to eat! What can I do with such limited food choices??? Health food is very scarce in the entire county here... I hate it!

  1. umm if u like bread then make sure they are 100% whole wheat or whole grain. cut the potatoes they give u a quike blood sugar spike that can potentially be converted to fat. Eat more fish. They have great proteins and omega-3 fatty acids and very low fat. eat more veggies limit fruits to one to two serving per day. drink lots and lots of water – helps with metabolism. take vitamins. Eat no-fat yogurts- they have a good amount of proteins, vitamins, and cultures that help with digestion. Good luck!

  2. I love carbs, too. I actually really like Ryvita crackers. Those are healthy for you. I also really like Peanut Butter Protein Bars by South Beach. Those are awesome for an easy snack!

What I try to do is in the evenings to alternate carbs with fruit. Like I’ll have some cereal (I do eat whole grain cereal as a late night snack) then I’ll have a banana. Then I’ll have some crackers and an orange. I just try to alternate all the time with fruit!

Also you could order food online– not fresh food– but healthy snack food that could be delivered to your home.

    ~Good Luck~
