Weight Loss Question and Answer Weight Loss Answers

6Oct/104

Have you ever been on a weight loss diet?

If so, how many times?

Or for how many years?

What reasons prompted you to go on the diet?

Did you lose weight?

Did you lose all the weight you wanted to?

Were you able to keep the weight off?

Did you blame yourself or feel bad about yourself or your efforts when you could not?

Did you later go on another diet?

Do you now weigh less or more than the first diet you went on?

Has dieting improved or worsened your eating habits, your body image, and health?

Are you female or male?

  1. Yes.

    Twice.

The first time, I wanted to be an ideal weight on a scale. The second time was several years later, I became more realistic, but still wanted to fall within an acceptable weight range.

    Yes.

The first time, no. The second time, yes. But I still struggle to keep the weight off.

    Yes.

    Yes.

    No.

    Less.

It made me more conscious of my eating habits and obsessed with food.

    Female.

  2. No. My weight has always been perfect for my age, however I can’t avoid misplaced fats here and there that’s why I hit the gym to trim my body. I’ve been on my exercise programs since I hit the age 20. If I felt bad about myself it’s for other reasons. I did go on a diet. A HEALTHY diet for health’s sake. I’m female.

  3. average / underweight my whole life

  4. Yes, my parents starved us kids, resulting in premature heart and gastric problems in all, plus a host of head problems. I started to gain weight when I was thrown out of home at 15 and started to fend for myself. One of the most commonly asked questions I get is :- "Why did you join the Army?’ The answer is wimple -"They fed me better than home ever did". I reckon I’m probably the only person in the world who actually loved bully beef! I thought the food was fabulous, AND they gave me my second pair of shoes, plus socks, and warm clothing in Winter.

At 61, I am 6′1"+ and just short of 13 stone – about 175 lbs. No beer gut and pretty fit (apart from heart problems)
