Good and safe weight loss pills with exercise and diet?
I currently weigh around 220lbs. Before september 1st I want to lose about 50lbs to become 170lbs. I plan to workout 5-7 times a week burning 1000 calories each time while eating 1200-1500 calories a day. Do you think I will reach my goal in time and do you know of any safe pills that i can get from walmart, zellers, or shoppers that will help me reach my goal?

Shedding pounds with diet pills could put heart health at risk.
In a recent study, diet pills containing ephedra or guarana were associated with increases in heart rate and blood pressure. Such increases could raise heart attack and stroke risk, particularly in people with medical conditions that already put them at risk for these events. Ditch diet pills in favor of exercise and a balanced diet.
In addition to elevating heart rate and blood pressure, weight loss supplements containing ephedra or guarana also may lead to glucose and potassium imbalance, all of which could increase the risk of heart attack and stroke. The dangers are especially great for people who have medical conditions that increase their risk of heart attack and stroke, such as high blood pressure, atherosclerosis, or diabetes — conditions often associated with obesity. While the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has banned ephedra, many diet supplements may still contain guarana, a plant-derived compound that is high in caffeine, or ma huang, a Chinese herb closely related to ephedra. Although it’s important to shed excess pounds if you are overweight, doing it the right way means doing it healthfully, such as by eating a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and fiber, and by exercising regularly.

A calorie is approximately 3500 calories. If you are at a steady weight right now and eat 2000 calories a day (for most people 2000 calories is a little low and if you eat more than this right now and your weight is not going up, you will lose even more weight on this diet) and it is about 15 weeks to september, if you follow this plan you will lose approximately 45 pounds. But this is assuming you exercise 7 days a week, burning 1000 calories each day and only consume 1500 calories a day. As for weight loss pills, the most common is a thermogenic, which is basically a caffeine pill. They are all pretty much the same (last time i was at GNC and talked with the sales associate he said the way to choose a weight loss pill is to pick the one with the coolest packaging).

There are no safe weight loss supplements, and they are only for the short-term, anyway
The key to weight management is ‘calories in, calories out’ – eating healthfully and increasing one’s physical activity. No one should lose more than 1-2 pounds a week or that it ‘just’ water and muscle loss.
For healthful eating tips (and to search for a registered dietitian/RD): http://www.eatright.org

Your nearby hospital(s) may have a weight management program, and it may (or may not) be partially covered by one’s health insurance.
Edit: Just to reiterate that no weight loss pills are safe or effective (that is Especially for long-term weight loss) including ‘Alli’ which people have had trouble making it into the bathroom in time before they have an ‘accident’ with their bowels.

The workout plan seems like a valient effort, but the fatloss pills pretty much only raise your metabolism a little through giving you some more caffeine without calories, and curbing your appetite which isn’t necessary if you eat properly. And I’m not sure if walmart carries any supplements besides whey protein that you would really want to use. Try a GNC and if your going to do anything I would recommend ripped fuel.
What ever you buy —- FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS THEY GIVE!!!! just because our at 220 which is about the weight i was at last fall doesn’t mean you can take one more pill then they recommend. Also if you get a range of how many pills to take use the lower dosage first to make sure you don’t have adverse side effects.

Your goal is very unrealistic.
You are trying to lose 50 lbs in about 13 weeks. That’s 4lbs per week. You can do that for a couple of weeks thru intense exercise and radical diet change, but your body will adapt fairly quickly, and you’ll be back to losing 2 lbs a week or so.
Also, unless you are very small and very thin, you aren’t going to be eating enough.
Lastly, pills aren’t going to help near as much as you think.
