College student diet/weight loss?
Hello.. I am a freshman in college and have done my best to keep off the freshman fifteen - and actually succeeded. However, I was overweight when i came to college, and would like to take the opportunity of being away from family and friend pressures of over/unhealthy-eating habits to lose some weight before winter break. >> Gotta look good for reunions and the Christmas season! I'm hoping that with a specific goal in mind, I'll have the motivation needed to get through school and finals, and then keep the motivation and the feeling of accomplishment to keep up the good habits for a healthy lifestyle.
I have about 6-7 weeks and ideally, would like to lose 20-25 pounds in that time. Keep in mind that I am a college student... I have lots of classes, homework, and studying to focus on and love to go out with my new friends...
Basically, I need a diet/exercise regimen to lose the weight in the time I mentioned previously. I have access to a full gym on campus. Diet wise, I'm ok with counting calories... exercise wise, however, I cannot do anything high impact because of previous knee injuries (which is how I put the extra weight on in the first place) - that means no jogging/running. Elliptical is approved for cardio/leg strength training.
Also - would like some tips on staying on track during high-stress times and also some pointers on core strength training (I need to improve my posture and get rid of bellly flab!)
THANK YOU SO MUCH in advance...
Don't try to sell me diet pills. Not going to take them.

As much elliptical work as you can do. Since you are a woman (I presume), you probably don’t want to and will not build much muscle. The main concern for men is that they don’t do cardio because they don’t want to lose hard-earned muscle. Cardio is still the single best EXERCISE for weight loss (diet is the single best thing for weight loss but cardio is the best exercise). Consistency is the single most important thing. As a college student, I know how hard this can be. You don’t want to be a "weekend warrior" or do 6 days of exercise one week and then 2 days the next. Schedule at least 2-3 intense workouts a week and if you have time, just toss in a light work out here and there. As for core strength, don’t do crunches or sit ups. Plank, hold your legs 6 inches from the ground while lying on your back, and Russian twists are great. Motionless core work outs are the best for stability and strength.

Do not drink soda!
Do not eat chocolate or sweets because they just make you hungrier.
Drink lots of water. Rarely about 3 times a week drink juice or ice tea.
Eat vegatables, salad, fruits, citrus…
There’s these small light tuna cans you can have they are only about 80 calories and taste delicious and you get protien from it.
If you go out to eat with your friends at restaurants I’m sure they always have a salad. Order one.
For sweet moments, just buy a small kit kat bar or something but only eat chocolate less than 2 a week. REFRAIN FROM CANDY.
Hope this helps

THE 6 TIME MEAL plan is a new concept to loss weight.
in this u ve to take meal 6 time rather than 3 time traditionally.
like 1. snacks 2. Breakfast 3. snacks 4. Lunch 5 snacks 6 dinner.
in this concept u ve to keep ur self full wid neutritious things so that u stay healthy and also u dont think about junk food( the main reason for increasing weight).
Also as u said u ve a busy schdule n knee probs,
keeping in mind I m suggesting u u can do "kapalbhati Prayanam" as suggested by Baba ramdev daily atlest for 10mis. I m sure u ll get result.
Also I am coming with my blog "stayfitforever99.blogspot.com" soon there u can find lot of fitness material.
